You present such a compelling story. With the photos you've encouraged us to add another adventure! On a side note, a writing professor friend is asking bloggers how they feel about AI; do you have any thoughts I can pass along to her?
Thanks for your comment. The Fitipreta property is visually pleasing as well as historic. I hope you’ll share your thoughts about your visit with me if you decide to go on an Alentejo wine adventure.
Regarding your question about your writing professor friend and how bloggers feel about AI, it’s an interesting question. I sometimes wonder if people realize how much Artificial Intelligence is already incorporated into so many aspects of life – everything from logistics to healthcare.
I have read a few posts from fellow Substack writers about the use of AI in writing. Some are completely against it and some feel threatened by it. Others are incorporating certain aspects of AI into their writing toolkits. Personally, I’m intrigued by AI and have been experimenting with ChatGPT to see how well it can help me generate ideas for future posts. And sometimes, when I have been stuck on how to re-word a sentence, I have used the technology to offer suggestions for better clarity.
As far as using AI as the tool of preference to write my posts, the answer is no. I still believe in the human element of writing – the emotion, the personal investment of time and research, the attention to detail, the accuracy of facts. I want my writing to come from my soul. That, (I think) is why people subscribe to Our Portugal Journey and that is what continues to keep me engaged with my work. - CW
