A simple detour to find a little wine bar in the Algarve may have saved our lives. We were driving between Porches and Silves during Storm Claudia when a last-minute choice changed our timing by just ten minutes, and put us behind a tornado instead of inside it. Some call these moments twists of fate, others call them guardian angels. Whatever they are, they stay with us. Have you ever had a moment like that?
I’m so glad that your decision to find that wine bar probably saved your life. Following your intuition or sometimes making a serendipitous decision is what can change everything—for the good.
Wow, what an incredible story. We have felt “the hand of fate” - or whatever you wanna call it - many, many times while we’ve been here. I love the mystery of it, and I love that it’s an ongoing lesson about life while living in Portugal: you learn to just roll with it.
Well evading an early fate twice clearly means you have grace. Religious are not, I am not, this whole concept of grace is a very interesting one.
Glad that both you and Paul love wine... as saying goes Wine is constant proof that the universe loves us and loves to see us happy :-))

Wow!
Life is fragile. Life is constant change.
(Há, seguramente, algo maior que nós.)
(Luckily there is wine - and you both like wine!)
