Did you have to get your FBI report apostilled? We’re in the process of getting our visa started and I thought we had to get it apostilled. Maybe not.

Hello Elle - Thanks for your comment. Unless you're applying for your visa at the New York office or if you're a US citizen applying from outside of the United States, you do not need an apostilled FBI report BUT ONLY IF YOU DO NOT OPEN THE ENVELOPE. The envelope must remain sealed just as it came in the mail to you. If you want to know what's in the report, you can order an emailed copy to look at as well as the mailed hard copy (this is the one that you do not open). Hope this helps. - CW

Sure. The best way to ask questions is to go through my contact page: https://www.ourportugaljourney.com/publish/post/97047674?back=%2Fpublish%2Fsettings%23Pages

Which Channeler did you use? I am living in Queretaro, Mexico.

We used Accurate Biometrics in Phoenix, AZ. They sent our fingerprints to National Background Information which is an FBI Channeler. If you go onto the FBI Approved Channeler list (link in this article), look for them under the name "National Credit Reporting" (nbinformation.com). Go to their website and on the home page, scroll halfway down the left-hand column where it says "Search for a Fingerprint Location." You can search for a location that will fingerprint you by city/state/zip code.
