LOVED this! Loved the music too! Still in Rhode Island- home after the trip to alpine Europe, which was just amazing!- and still find Portugal draws me in. However the food does not and I believe I would struggle! But the people, the kindness, the good medical care and the beauty tug at me! I keep reading your stuff and enjoying every post! Thank you, a million times over, for warming my heart.

Thank you, Barb! I enjoyed the photos of your trip - looks like you had a wonderful time. I struggled a little with the food in Portugal (and I'm Portuguese!). A lot of it is heavier and starchier than I'm accustomed to. We eat out occasionally but not a lot. What we like is the freshness of the vegetables and fruits. We also eat locally grown pork and chicken. And we enjoy fish and shellfish. The area we live in has a variety of restaurants - from traditional Portuguese to Mexican and Italian. We have found a few good pizza places in Cascais as well. The longer I live here, the easier it is to adapt to the food. I'll never be a fan of fish heads or tails - and I haven't yet embraced octopus - but part of the journey for me is experiencing new things! Thanks for taking the time to comment on my post! - CW

We have some things planned. One of them is trying to find more info about my Portuguese heritage. And there are so many little places and villages we want to check out. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you! The goat was very cute and curious. They all had brass bells attached to their collars so every time they moved the bells rang and it was like a little symphony.

A very sweet and upbeat compilation. Well done, And it’s obvious you’ve had downs as well as ups this year and have managed to keep your spirit. That’s wonderful. It’s not always easy being far away from home.

Hello Carol!

Thank you for sharing your pictures and experiences in this wonderful Vlog:-))

We understand from Mike and Mary that we are neighbors?!! Martin and I have just moved to the Alto da Barra area of Oeiras. We’ll be starting our first year on your one-year anniversary! Also just retired, from California.

We would love to get together for a coffee (happy to meet at Pasteis de Belém 😂) once we’re settled.

Thanks again for all your lovely Blogs!
