Thanks for your comment, Kate. The Dão region is a nice area for wine tasting. Casa de Santar is part of Global Wines, so there are many wine labels in the collection. If you come on a weekend, be sure to reserve a table at their Paço Dos Cunhas De Santar for dinner. They serve lunch most days, but on the weekends they do a wine dinner. That's on my list to try next time. - CW
The little town looks lovely. I also checked out Luis de Camões House and it looked like a mighty fine place to stay. I will pass a link, to the newsletter, for our Portuguese resident friends for a nice weekend trip. Xoxo
Beautifully written! The article is engaging and vividly narrates the charming town of Santar. It is almost as if we are with you in person walking through the alleys of the town. And as always, Paul's visuals are spot on and elevates the information. Can't wait to visit it.
Thank you for sharing. I can’t wait to visit. We are nearby in Luso (only a few months out of the year currently) another great small village.
Thanks for your comment, Steph. I will have to check out Luso (we love these little villages). I appreciate your support of my newsletter! - CW
This is on my must visit lists! I have two bottles of Casa Santar wines in my collection right now.

Maybe "road trip"!
Sounds like a plan :-)
That little town looked so charming reminded me of a little town we stayed in in Italy called Orvieto.
I could have spent a long time speaking with that 92 year young lady, so much history!
Thanks for sharing
Wow! It looks utterly charming and the gardens look incredible! This is a place I would definitely enjoy! Thank you for sharing!
Those gardens look amazing, adding this to my day trip list. So many small towns here have something unique and beautiful. Thank you for sharing this!
