Great article. Stays on point and delivers helpful information while respecting both the Atlantic (for it's power and unpredictability) and Portugal/Portuguese (for practicality and prudence).
Thank you for your comment, LifeTrek. I appreciate that observation. One of the things I've come to admire about Portugal is its practical approach to living alongside the ocean. The Atlantic is beautiful, but it always reminds us who's in charge. I'm glad that balance came through. - CW
Wow! I didn’t know how small those blue dragons were-how would I even see it to step over it? Didn’t know about the blue and purple flags either. Thank you for this info!
That was my reaction too, Heather. They're tiny compared to what most people imagine when they hear "Blue Dragon." The flag system was new to me as well when I moved to Portugal. It's one of those small things that can make a day at the beach a little safer. - CW
You're very welcome, Jeanne. I hadn't heard about them until moving to Portugal either. Once you know what they are, you start noticing the warning flags more often. Thanks for reading! - CW

Wow, such a tiny thing, but it packs a punch!
Exactly, Sameer! It's amazing how something so small can command so much respect. Nature has a way of reminding us not to judge by size alone. - CW

Thank you. Good advice!
Thanks, Maria. Hopefully it's information you'll never need, but it's good to know what to watch for when spending time along the coast. - CW
