I started my blog several years ago when we started traveling fulltime in our motorhome. There is a large blogging/Instagram community in the world of RV travel. It's a way for people living nomadic lives to connect with one another on the road. Absent those platforms, that lifestyle could be very lonely.
I was hoping to find a similar community of expat-bloggers over here, but it seems they are few and far between. There are several very good topical ones, but it doesn't seem like many people are using their blogs to make friends. Yours is an exception and I think it's great. You have a nice mix of material - topical as well as personal - which allows people to get to know you and to feel they connect with you. I hope more bloggers will follow suit. It's such a nice way to get to know other folks going through the same things and to learn from one another.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your blogging break and I wish you a wonderful holiday season!
Thank you for taking the time to chronicle your experiences! I read all of your posts when they arrive in my inbox! For me, patiently waiting out my final 1.5 years until we take our leap, I appreciate reading perspectives on day-in-the-life stuff, differences between the US and Portugal, and the European lifestyle. The more I'm educated, the easier the adaptation will be - in theory! Enjoy your holiday break and looking forward to where you take the blog next!
Thank you, Carol! Every time I see your latest post in my email I feel like I’m receiving a note from a friend. I have enjoyed every single post. Wishing you a restful and peaceful holiday season
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about all your new adventures and I am happy you have a car now to explore further. Enjoy the holidays and looking forward to your new adventures in 2023
And I have loved reading your writing, learning about your amazing journey and I am always eager for more! You have taken me to places I have wondered about, returned me to places I have previously explored and have given me new perspective. You are an amazing writer! My life is richer for having come to know you a little and I am so thankful for that! Enjoy your travel break, journey safely and come back to us refreshed and renewed. I will be waiting with an open heart! Thank you and Merry Christmas!❤️
Thank you, Carol, for taking the readers of Portugal Living Magazine along on your journey. Your writing is clear, relevant, personal, yet precise. We've learned quite a bit from you. And for this we are most appreciative. While you're taking a (hopefully brief) sabbatical, your fans and followers will find "Our Car-Buying Experience," "Dazed and Confused in Portugal," "Minding Your Manners," "Learning the Lingo," and "Have a Nice Life" in the magazine. That says a lot about your proclivity and production, as well as our ability to spot and showcase talent when we see it. Ate logo.
All great info! I look forward to 2023 and your journey!

I absolutely loved your video! There are so many things we missed…so I guess we have to return.
