We have also seen this practice as well, especially the last couple of years and do not like it. Tourists should respect the tipping culture in Europe (my opinion). -CW

The issue is that companies/restaurant holders do not. They saw a possible peer pressure margin and invariably they used it. I had only seen it in London before. Now itтАЩs almost the rule in all those places where foreigners make up the large part of the restaurant revenues (which can be also an helpful indicator for eating out: these places arenтАЩt тАЬgenuineтАЭ, no matter what their marketing department says)
